Managing Director wanted in Washington, DC Work with financial institutions, non-designated financial businesses and professions (DNFBPs), and governments on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT); counter-WMD proliferation financing (CPF); anti-bribery and anticorruption (ABC), fraud, and economic sanctions compliance around the world.

Responsibilities:
  • Help clients identify, manage, and mitigate financial crimes compliance (FCC) and reputational risks.
  • Develop tailored risk assessment methodologies to detect, analyze, and quantify inherent risks and the mitigating measures in place.
  • Design and implement remediation strategies to strengthen client FCC programs.
  • Draft guidance and best practice documents.
  • Advise clients on compliance with financial crimes laws and regulations.
  • Provide recommendations on financial institutions and jurisdictions’ policies and programs, assessing exposure to money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing, sanctions, and related compliance risks in accordance with global standards and applicable national requirements.
  • Craft proposals for legal reforms, advise clients on exposure to financial crimes and potential sanctions, and provide legal, regulatory, guidance and risk management training on global financial sanctions and AML/CFT requirements and best practices.
  • Review and provide recommendations on financial institution policies and programs, systems and controls and products related to FCC legal requirements and regulatory expectations.
  • Craft comprehensive and targeted assessments of exposure to money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing, sanctions, and related compliance risks in accordance with global standards and relevant national legal requirements. 
  • Provide industry-leading global financial sanctions and AML/CFT legal, regulatory, and risk management training for compliance experts, senior management and board members.  
  • Assist in the design and development of world class counter-illicit finance and FCC capabilities. 
  • Prepare risk assessments, guidance documents and compliance policy and legal reviews.  
  • Train financial institution personnel on relevant legal requirements to meet global standards.  
  • Research compliance, regulatory, and financial integrity-related matters, practices, and risk management legal requirements and regulatory expectations.  
  • Write memos, articles and reports.  
  • Participate in senior client-facing meetings and presentations.  
  • Assist in outreach to key government authorities, international financial institutions, and financial institutions.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Law, Law or Political Science.
  • 5 years of experience in the job offered or in similar occupation.


Salary: $260,000/yr.
